BOYA BY-C10 Recorder Shock Mount – Product Description

The BOYA BY-C10 is a practical audio recorder mounting accessory designed to help improve sound recording quality when using compatible portable audio recorders with DSLR cameras, photography equipment, and video cameras. It provides a secure mounting platform while helping isolate the recorder from unwanted vibrations transmitted by the camera or other equipment.

Ideal for videographers, filmmakers, journalists, content creators, and audio professionals, the BOYA BY-C10 offers a convenient solution for mounting a portable audio recorder directly onto a camera’s cold shoe. Its rubber mounting surface helps reduce mechanical noise and vibrations, supporting cleaner audio capture during interviews, event coverage, documentaries, and video production.

Whether you are recording indoors or working on location, the BOYA BY-C10 is a useful accessory for creating a more organised and efficient camera audio setup.

H2: Reliable Audio Recorder Mounting for Video Production

When recording video, positioning your audio recorder correctly can make a significant difference to workflow and convenience. The BOYA BY-C10 allows users to mount a compatible portable recorder directly onto a camera, reducing the need to carry separate mounting accessories or manage an unnecessarily complicated setup.

The cold shoe attachment makes it suitable for compatible camera rigs used in interviews, weddings, conferences, corporate videos, YouTube production, and independent filmmaking. Keeping the recorder near the camera also makes it easier to monitor recording activity and manage equipment while filming.

H3: Designed for Compatible Zoom and Tascam Recorders

The BOYA BY-C10 is designed for use with several popular portable audio recorders. Compatible models include the Zoom H4n, H5, and H6, as well as the Tascam DR-40, DR-05, and DR-07.

Its 1/4-inch mounting screw provides a familiar connection for compatible recorder mounting points. Before purchasing, check the mounting thread and dimensions of your particular recorder to ensure a proper fit.

H2: Reduce Unwanted Vibrations and Handling Noise

Camera movement can transfer vibrations to equipment mounted directly onto a camera body. These vibrations may contribute to unwanted mechanical noise in audio recordings.

The BOYA BY-C10 features a rubber mat and a design intended to improve acoustic isolation between the recorder and the camera. This can help reduce some vibration-related noise during normal operation, particularly when equipment is handled or repositioned.

Although the mount can help minimise transmitted vibrations, it does not eliminate every source of noise. Wind protection, careful handling, microphone positioning, and appropriate recording levels remain important for achieving professional audio results.

H2: Durable and Practical Mounting Platform

The BOYA BY-C10 features a 25 x 50 mm mounting platform that provides a stable surface for compatible portable recorders. Its rubber mat helps the recorder sit securely while offering cushioning at the contact point.

With a maximum supported equipment weight of 1 kg, the mount is suitable for many compact portable recorders when used within its specified capacity. Always ensure that the recorder is securely attached and that the camera’s cold shoe can safely support the combined weight of the equipment.

• Videography and filmmaking: Mount a compatible recorder on a camera rig for a more organised production setup.
