Professional Wind Protection for Clearer Audio

Reduce Unwanted Wind Noise

Wind noise can significantly affect the quality of dialogue, interviews, and location sound recordings. The BOYA BY-WS1000 is designed to provide a protective enclosure around a compatible shotgun microphone, helping reduce wind interference when recording outdoors.

The included furry windshield adds another layer of wind protection, making the system useful for location recording, field reporting, outdoor interviews, and video production. Its effectiveness will depend on wind intensity, microphone choice, and the recording environment.

Isolate Handling Shock and Vibration

In addition to wind protection, the BOYA BY-WS1000 helps isolate the microphone from physical shocks and vibrations. This is particularly valuable when recording while moving, operating a boom pole, or adjusting microphone positioning during a production.

Reducing handling noise helps preserve dialogue clarity and minimises distracting low-frequency sounds that may otherwise require additional audio editing.

Designed for Professional Shotgun Microphones

The BOYA BY-WS1000 accommodates many shotgun microphones measuring up to approximately 320 mm in length and 20–22 mm in diameter. Before purchasing, confirm your microphone’s dimensions and mounting requirements to ensure compatibility.

Its internal dimensions provide room for a suitable microphone and suspension arrangement, helping keep the microphone properly positioned within the windshield system.

The integrated coiled XLR cable supports compatible professional audio connections, helping maintain an organised recording setup. Users should confirm connector compatibility with their microphone and recording equipment before use.

Comfortable Handling and Versatile Mounting

The BOYA BY-WS1000 features a lightweight, anti-skidding handle designed to provide a secure and comfortable grip. This is beneficial for sound recordists and videographers who need to maintain microphone positioning for extended periods.

The 3/8-inch mounting thread, together with the included 1/4-inch adapter, offers flexibility when connecting the system to compatible supports and mounting accessories. It can be incorporated into different production workflows depending on the available equipment.

The system can also serve as an indoor microphone shock mount when used in a suitable configuration, giving audio professionals additional flexibility beyond outdoor recording.
