Whether you are photographing portraits, landscapes, products, wildlife, events, or commercial projects, the Sony A7R V provides the precision and flexibility required for demanding professional workflows.

This version is supplied as body only, making it an excellent choice for photographers who already own compatible Sony E-mount lenses or want to select lenses according to their specific photography requirements.

Sony A7R V 61MP Full-Frame Sensor

At the heart of the Sony A7R V is a 61MP full-frame Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor. The back-illuminated sensor architecture helps produce highly detailed images while maintaining excellent sensitivity and dynamic range.

The high pixel count is particularly useful for commercial photography, landscapes, architecture, studio work, and other applications where fine detail matters. It also provides plenty of room for cropping images while retaining useful resolution.

Combined with Sony’s advanced processing technology, the sensor produces clean, detailed photographs with natural-looking tones and excellent overall image quality.

Advanced BIONZ XR and AI Processing

The BIONZ XR processor provides the processing power needed to handle the camera’s high-resolution sensor and demanding image and video workloads. Working alongside the dedicated AI Processing Unit, it enables sophisticated subject recognition and autofocus performance.

The AI-based system can recognize and track a variety of subjects, helping maintain focus even when the subject is moving or the composition changes. This makes the camera particularly suitable for portraits, sports, wildlife, weddings, events, and fast-moving subjects.

AI-Based Real-Time Tracking Autofocus

The AI-based Real-Time Tracking AF system is designed to recognize and follow subjects with high precision. Intelligent subject recognition helps the camera maintain focus on important details, reducing the need for constant manual adjustments.

For photographers working in challenging or rapidly changing environments, this advanced autofocus system provides greater confidence when capturing decisive moments.

Professional 8K and 4K Video Recording

The Sony A7R V is not limited to still photography. It also provides impressive video capabilities, including 8K 24p recording and 4K 60p recording, as well as Full HD recording at up to 120p.

With 10-bit video recording, creators can achieve greater tonal gradation and more flexibility during post-production. The camera also supports professional picture profiles such as S-Log3 and S-Cinetone, making it suitable for a range of professional video production workflows.

The 4K 16-bit RAW output provides additional flexibility for filmmakers who require high-quality footage and extensive control during editing and color grading.

High-Resolution Electronic Viewfinder

Framing and reviewing your subjects is made easier with the camera’s 9.44-million-dot electronic viewfinder. With a refresh rate of up to 120 fps, the EVF provides a smooth viewing experience that is especially useful when following moving subjects.

The high-resolution viewfinder allows photographers to inspect compositions and details with impressive clarity before pressing the shutter.

4-Axis Multi-Angle Touchscreen LCD

The Sony A7R V features a 3.2-inch 4-axis multi-angle touchscreen LCD, providing greater flexibility when composing images and recording video from different perspectives.

The articulating screen is useful for low-angle photography, high-angle shooting, video production, studio work, and self-recording. Touch functionality also provides a convenient way to navigate menus and interact with focusing and shooting controls.

10 fps Continuous Shooting with AF/AE Tracking

Despite its high-resolution 61MP sensor, the Sony A7R V can shoot continuously at up to 10 frames per second with AF/AE tracking. This makes it capable of capturing sequences of action while maintaining exposure and focus tracking.

For event photographers, sports shooters, wildlife photographers, and other professionals who need to capture fleeting moments, this continuous shooting capability adds considerable versatility.

8-Stop 5-Axis Image Stabilization

Built-in 5-axis optical image stabilization provides up to 8 stops of stabilization, helping reduce the effects of camera shake when shooting handheld.

This is particularly useful in low-light situations, when using slower shutter speeds, or when working with lenses without built-in optical stabilization. It can also contribute to steadier handheld video footage.

Dual CFexpress Type A and SD Card Slots

For professional workflows, the Sony A7R V provides dual memory card slots supporting CFexpress Type A and SD cards. This allows photographers and filmmakers to configure their storage according to their workflow requirements.

Dual card slots can also provide greater convenience when managing large amounts of high-resolution photography and video footage during professional assignments.
